How do I block a number from the CallSwitch One Desktop App?

To give a user permission to block numbers from the CS1 app, you will need to edit the User, then go to Advanced, and toggle on ‘can block callers via apps’

Block a number from the app Call History:

When you go to the Call History and hover over a number, you will now see an option with three dots:

When you click on this, you will see the option to block inbound or outbound calls for this number:

You will then be prompted to confirm that you want to block this number:

Note: This blocks the number across the entire account, not just for this User.

Once the number has been blocked, this will be displayed next to the number and specify whether outbound, inbound, or all calls are blocked:

Inbound/Outbound:

All Calls:

You will be able to unblock the calls from the same place:

From a Phonebook:

To block a contact from a Phonebook, you will need to go to Contacts and open up the Contact you wish to block:

You will see the block icon here:

You will now see a “(blocked)” message next to the number in the contact:

This will appear for all Users if they have this contact saved in their Phonebook, but only Users with the ‘can block callers via apps’ permission can amend this block.

For Users without the new permission, it will display as follows:

Viewing a list of blocked Users:

You will be able to view a full list of blocked Users from the Dashboard under Calls>Restrictions:

You can see the number that was blocked, the User who blocked them, and the date and time the block was created.

Inbound blocks will display under the Inbound Restrictions, and Outbound blocks will display under the Outbound Restrictions.

When you try to call a number with an outbound block, you will hear a ‘number blocked by user’ message.

If you have any issues with this or have any questions, please contact CallSwitch One Support on 0330 122 700, or send us an email.
